File consists of 36 children's drawings submitted for the Christmas 1970 issue; of these, 12 are the winning designs and 24 are unaccepted ones.

The winning designs were created by Anthony Martin of Marius, MB (Santa Claus, 5 cent stamp); Donna Niskala of Macrorie, SK (Horse-drawn sleigh, 5 cent stamp); Lisa Wilson of Kamloops, BC (Nativity, 5 cent stamp); Dwayne Durham of Fort Erie, ON (Children skiiing, 5 cent stamp); Manon Lecompte of Laprairie, QC (Snowmen and Christmas Tree, 5 cent stamp); Janet Mckinney of Saint John, NB (Christ Child, 6 cent stamp); Jean Pomperleau of St. Paul, AB (Children and Christmas Tree, 6 cent stamp); Nancy Whatley of Armdale, NS (Toy Store, 6 cent stamp); Eugene Battacharya of St. John's, NF (Santa Claus, 6 cent stamp); Joseph MacMillan of Summerville, PEI (Church, 6 cent stamp); Corrine Fortier of St. Leon, MB (Christ Child, 10 cent stamp); and Janis Dojcak of Flin Flon, MB (Snowmobile and Trees, 15 cent stamp).

Attributions and conjectures:

Each creator's name is based on the inscription found on the back of their respective artwork. Please note that in some cases, errors were made in the transcription of the children's names, which were then reproduced in official Canada Post documentation (it is unclear whether the transcriptions were made by Canada Post or the National Postal Museum). Please consult each drawing's item-level description for specific details.

Note on the state of conservation:

Unaccepted designs are pasted onto oversized exhibition boards; two on each side. As they cannot be safely removed, they are housed in their current state. The verso of the drawings is therefore inaccessible for consultation.

Location of originals note:

Winning designs for the 1970 Christmas issue can be retrieved using barcodes 2000851577 through 2000851580, and 2000873182. Unaccepted designs are in containers 2000923325 through 2000923330.
