Series consists of legacy records that document the Communications Workers of Canada (CWC), a predecessor of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers (CEP)., Series documents labour relations, collective bargaining, pay equity, newsletters, and other issues including the merger between the CWC and the International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers (IUE). Series includes some legacy records of the Communications Workers of America (CWA)., Series also documents the role of the CWC in the Canadian Federation of Communications Workers (CFCW). The records document the constitution, meetings of the executive, administration and finances, labour relations, submissions to Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), and other issues.

General note:

The CFCW was established by the CWC and the Telecommunications Workers Union (TWU). The CFCW folded in 1986.
In 1992, at the time of the merger to create the CEP, Fred Pomeroy was President of the CWC and Ralph Wyatt was Secretary-Treasurer.
