Textual records (Electronic) Finding aid 12-218 is an unverified list indicating box numbers, file prefixes, file numbers, project numbers, titles, and outside dates. The title reflects the way that Transport Canada has historically organized and named its files. Titles begin at the Series-level identifying the general subject, and then become more specific with each subsequent level in order to give a full description of the contents of a file. General note:

Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the National Strategies unit of the Canadian Coast Guard. Accession consists of policy and planning records covering the following topics: publicity and training relating to search and rescue, environmental assessment and review processes, protection of navigable waters, obstructions of navigable waters, and ship wrecks and salvages. The majority of the records in this accession were created while the Coast Guard was a part of Transport Canada. Some records, however, appear to have been sent to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans who took over responsibility for the Coast Guard in 1996. These records, and the activities they document, were returned to Transport Canada and eventually transferred to Library and Archives Canada.
