This sub-series includes records found in the original Robbie Architects and Planners Library. Surviving files are found under the following seven headings:

16.1 Architectural Design and Theory
16.2. Planning
16.3. Construction
16.4. Management Including Contracts and Legal
16.5. Systems
16.6. Autonomous Servicing
16.7. General

Many documents were not preserved as copies were located elsewhere in the fonds or in LAC's library catalogue. A cross-reference to the pre-existing document is added to the series finding aid.

An important portion of this section consist of Canadian and foreign publications re. educational or health facilities and, less commonly, multi-unit housing. Canadian publications found in AMICUS, LAC's publications catalogue, were rejected (none were annotated). Foreign publications bearing on educational facilities were, for the most part, preserved, in order to document Roderick Robbie's research conducted for the SEF project in Toronto. Other publications, on the wider subject of architecture were rejected. The latter publications are almost all available in Canadian Libraries linked to Architectural Schools or Research Centres. Their preservation within the fonds would have brought too much attention on their potential influence on Roderick Robbie's theoretical thinking, it is certain that many of Robbie's readings are not in fact reflected by the documentation found in the LIBRARY series.
