This file contains architectural and design drawings of the Man and Polar Regions exhibit that was designed and built for Expo 67. This was one of four exhibition areas for the Man the Explorer theme pavilion (see Key Ref. 320) located in Expo Area: Ile Sainte-Hélène. It was situated on the lower level of the northwest building in the complex and showcased polar scenes of the Arctic and Antarctic regions and exhibits on the inhabitants, geography and climate of the polar regions, the effects of melting ice on the world, and Arctic and Antarctic explorers. It also featured a cold air ice cave and a short film called "Polar Life" directed by IMAX co-inventor Graeme Ferguson in the Carousel Theatre. The owner and contracting body of this building was the Canadian Corporation for the 1967 World Exhibition. The design architect for the complex was Affleck, Desbartes, Dimakopoulos, Lebensold, Sise, Montreal. Project Type: C.C.W.E. Projects = Projets de la C.C.E.U.
