These records were created and maintained by the Special Commission on the Restructuring of the Reserves. The Commission's mandate was to examine and make recommendations concerning the role, structure and employement of the Canadian Forces Reserve Force and options for restructuring. The Commission held two series of technical briefings to acquire essential background information. The Commission also held public hearings in every province. Following these events, the Commsision deliberated and produced a report for the Minister of National Defence on October 30, 1995. Subsequently, all records produced during those briefings and the public hearings were deposited at the National Archives of Canada. The accession includes textual records, publications, microfiches, audio-visual material and electronic records.
