In the deep summer of each year, the Blood Indians of Alberta hold their ritual dance. With rhythmical stomp and whirl, shuffle and leap, chant and drum beat, a culture comes to life, evoking a far-off time and space when vast herds roamed vast distances and lithe Indians astride arrow-swift horses brushed aside the wind and lived perhaps the freest life man has ever known.
