This fonds includes photographs, correspondence, and news clippings, most of which reflect the personal and professional relationship between Kaye Rowe and literary critic Desmond Pacey. The letters are largely focused on Pacey's last edited work, The Letters of Frederick Phillip Grove, as well as personal correspondence. Correspondence from Desmond's wife Mary Pacey, writer Al Purdy, and Pacey's research assistant J.C. Mahanti is also included.

Rowe, Kaye, 1910-1995 : Kathleen Joan ("Kaye") Moreland was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1910. Following her marriage to G.R. Rowe in 1932, the Rowes moved to Brandon, Manitoba. In Brandon, Kaye Rowe began her career as a journalist. She contributed to the Winnipeg Free Press as a society columnist in 1939, and later moved to the Brandon Sun where she wrote fashion, arts, and society articles from 1945 to 1980. In search of fashion and travel stories, she travelled to places including Iran, Greece, Switzerland, Paris, and Rome, and was a frequent correspondent for the Brandon Sun in New York City. She died in Brandon, Manitoba on December 16, 1995.

One of Kaye Rowe's close friends was literary critic Desmond Pacey (1917-1975), with whom she exchanged both professional and personal correspondence for decades. After attending University of Toronto and Cambridge University, he began his academic teaching career as head of the English department at Brandon College (which was, at the time, an affiliate of the University of Manitoba), from 1941 to 1944. He then moved to the University of New Brunswick, where he taught until his death in 1975, and where he served as President and gained the prestigious title of "University Professor."
