The collection consists of approximately 1650 glass plate negatives originally from the Canadian Furniture Company. The photographs largely depict furniture made by the company (presumably for publication in catalogues), as well as some family photographs, though the family is not identified.

Note on the state of conservation:

174 of the negatives are in poor condition with flaking of emulsion, broken plates, and plates adhered to each other.

Custodial history:

The collections exact origins are unknown. In 1989 the collection was transferred from the Regional Collection at the University of Western Ontario's Library in London, Ontario, to the Woodstock Museum and National Historic Site. It is believed that the negatives may have gone to the Regional Collection as part of a larger family fonds, but the name of that family is not known at this time.
