Collection search - Records of Pre-Unification Service Central Registries [textual record]

The records in this accession consists of subject files from the pre-uniification central registries of the Army (RG24-C-1-C, 1997-98/260, boxes 1-24, date range 1931; 1945-1966), Royal Canadian Air Force (RG24-E-1-C, 1997-98/260, boxes 53-83, date range 1941-1966), and Royal Canadian Navy (RG24-D-1-C, 1997-98/260, boxes 24-53, date range 1941-1968). The records had been retained by the Department due to the ongoing requirements for the records or because of the security classification of the records.
The records deal with a wide range of activities for all three services and DRB, and include such subjects as planning, operations, equipment, communications, weapons and weapons requirements, territorial waters, and defence properties.

These records were physically segregated from the various service registries because they were marked at classifications above SECRET.

It should be noted that these records will eventually be processed into the respective permanent inventory series for each of the services and not kept together in the form that they are in for this accession.
