This sub-series comprises manuscripts and other material related to poetry, plays, and fiction, written by John Ralston Saul in the late 1960s and 1970s, and mostly unpublished. It includes drafts of the short story "Glory"; a three-act play, "Turnips"; and book-length novels titled "Philosophical Dogs" and "The Flea Circus". Correspondence in the Publisher and Agents series complements these manuscripts, revealing the interest in publishing "The Flea Circus" (also titled "The Glass Cage"). His poems were mainly written during the period 1967 to 1976, while he was in London, Paris, Italy, Morocco, and Calgary.
