Series consists of draft versions of the manuscript, research notes and other documents created and accumulated by Margot Trevelyan.

Series includes drafts and revisions of chapters 2 through 8.

The research files in the series document people, events, industries, employers and unions relevant to the life and career of Madeleine Parent. Topics include the textile industry and labour organizing in Quebec and Ontario (1940s to 1970s), legal troubles (charge of seditious conspiracy), Artistic Woodwork strike (1973), the Waffle movement (1970s), nationalism in labour representation and other matters. Research also covers the United Textile Workers of America (UTWA) in Canada, competition from the Textile Workers Union of America (TWUA), the influence of the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) and the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), and the establishment of the Canadian Textile Council (CTC) and the Confederation of Canada Unions (CCU).

Records include hand-written and typed research notes; newsletters and other records from the Canadian Textile Council (CTC) and other unions; copies of contemporary news coverage and legislation; a chronology of the life and career of Madeleine Parent; an outline of the proposed biography; and correspondence.
