Photographs document the Research Station, Agriculture Canada, Lethbridge, Alberta. The file features a photographic print documenting the first raising of the Canadian Flag at the Research Station on 15 February 1965. The photograph is comprised of five images: the lowering of the Red Ensign; folding the Red Ensign; raising the Canadian flag (two images); and the Canadian flag at full mast. The images depict a number of men and women standing outside on the stairs and along the front of the building. The ceremony is led by three unidentified men. Also attending is a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer in formal uniform. Also included in the file are posed group portraits of: male and female employees of the Research Station (with hand-written annotations detailing the names of employees); attendees at two unidentified events (Frank Harper and Melville Cormack are in both photographs); and men at the Fruit and Vegetable Training School. The file also includes undated studio portrait and informal photographs of Frank R. Harper and two photographs of a scientist (believed to be F.R. Harper) seated at a microscope.

Some of the photographs have damage in the corners (slight tears, holes from pins or tacks). One photograph has an impression left from a paperclip.

The CPS received the photographs from plant pathologist Frank R. Harper.
