General note:

This accession consists of files created and/or maintained by the Ministry of State for Economic Development or MSED (later re-titled as the Ministry of State for Economic and Regional Development, or MSERD). These files consist of initiatives related to the development of the Service Sector: banks, financial institutions, tourism, construction, etc.

For the Tourism Industry, initiatives focused on promoting understanding through travel. In addition, files focus on providing assistance to convention and trade centres in Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa.

In addition, this accession consists of files on the Foreign Investment Review Act, including discussion on an administrative review of the Foreign Investment Review Agency, proposals to the Agency, and new measures (including the publication of) foreign takeover bids.
