This collection of ministerial files contains records of the various Ministers who have acted as the Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians. The role and responsibility of Federal Interlocutor has been assigned to a number of different departments since its inception. Therefore, these ministerial records are not limited to those generated by the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and contain records from ministers representing other departments, such as Natural Resources or Public Works.
