SPAR Aerospace Limited : SPAR Aerospace was founding in 1967 when shareholders purchased the Special Projects and Applied Research division of de Havilland Aircraft of Canada and the merging of Canadian Applied Research Limited from A.V. Roe Canada Limited. SPAR Aerospace Limited played a major role in the Canadian Space Industry, including the development of the Communications Technology Satellite (CTS), RADARSAT-1, and Remote Manipulator System (RMS, also known as the Canadarm).

Following several years of financial difficulties, SPAR Aerospace sold its space and robotics division to MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates in 1999.
