The series comprises annual reports, strategic plans, and final reports on health care issues distributed or published by the Health Council of Canada, in English and French versions. The series holds corporate annual reports for 2004/05 to 2012/13 and two five-year strategic plans, 2008-2013 and 2011-2015. The final reports include over sixty separate reports on health care issues between 2004 and 2014, including a series of bulletins on Canadian Health Care Matters and progress reports on various issues. Some of the reports on health care and emerging issues included: The Health Status of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples; Generic Drug Pricing; Learning from Canadians with Chronic Health Conditions; and Seniors in Need; and also addressed issues such as wait times, home care, prescription drugs, and healthy choices for children and youth.
