This sub-series consists of evaluation reports and related material for the Canadian Toy Testing Council's Toy Evaluation Program. The records here primarily consist of completed evaluation forms by volunteer toy testers. There are sample years from approx, 2005 to 2012, and the evaluations primarily cover toys that were awarded Children's Choice or Best Bet awards.

There are also planning reports, correspondence, and some promotional material for toys that were determined to be award winners.

The CTTC rated toys in the following way:

Three Stars was the highest rating that went to toys that are distinguished by excellence in design, function, safety, durability, and play value, as well as battery consumption (if applicable)

Two Star toys had very good play value, but may present minor problems related to design, function and durability.

One Star ratings may indicated good play value but toys may have serious flaws in other areas of ratings, or may have a good general assessment coupled with very narrow play value.

The Novelty rating is assigned to toys that do not represent a form of play that is sustained, but do offer short-term or occasional enjoyment.

Toys which are not recommended have major deficiencies in function, play value, safety or durability.

There were also awards handed out. These consisted of the: 1. Children's Choice Award; 2. Best Bet and, for a short time during the 2000s, 3. The Energizer Toy of the Year.

Children's Choice Awards were given to newly released toys that were have praised for being innovative, engaging, and the best in their area of play.

A Best Bet toy is one that testers have consistently rated as top notch in areas of assembly, design, function, durability and safety. A best bet toy had sustained play value.
