Collection search - Operational records of the Food and Drug Directorate [textual record]

Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Food and Drugs Directorate of the former Health Protection Branch of the Department of National Health and Welfare (now Health Canada).

This accession contains central registry files from the 900 block of the subject file classification system, concerning many areas of the administration and operations of the Food and Drug Directorate. Subjects include, but are not limited to: containers, lubricants, cleaning agents for food or drug industrial use; cooperation and liaison with the Department of Agriculture; amendments to the Food and Drug Act Regulations; labelling and advertising of food; pesticides; food additives; food packaging; food irradiation; infant foods; and sweeteners. Boxes 8 to 41 comprise files on specific companies which manufacture food and/or drugs.
