Accession consists of a sample of photographic items (b/w and colour negatives, photographic prints) from the defunct Photographic Library of the former Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration Headquarters in Regina. The photographic items document various subjects relating to PFRA's functions and activities in Western Canada, including but not limited to the following: soil and water conservation programs; community pastures; major engineering projects, such as dams and irrigation systems; personnel; buildings; and equipment. Although some items date from as far back as 1894 and as recently as 2000, the predominant dates for the vast majority of the sample are from 1935 to 1989

Please note that the photographic sample in this accession does not include items relating to PFRA's involvement with respect to Agro-Forestry or the shelterbelt program --- photographic records relating to these subjects presently remain with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Indian Head research centre, which maintains its own separate photographic library.

This accession is currently held in the Winnipeg Regional Service Centre.
