Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Telecommunications and Electronics Branch of Transport Canada.

The accession consist primarily of general correspondence received and sent by the Controller of Telecommunications of the Department of Transport and arranged chronologically. Included are letters requesting information regarding TV and Radio communications (i.e., requests from towns for tower placements and requests for information regarding frequency assignments), memoranda from other federal departments (e.g., external affairs) and international organizations (e.g., the United Nations), newspaper clippings, news releases, international publications related to telecommunications. This accession also contains copies of public hearings of the Board of Broadcast Governors (the precursor to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) as well as correspondence and authorizations regarding the control of antennae for domestic private receiving stations among others.

File listings for OFRC accession 1974-204 note the following details about the contents of these eight boxes.
