General note:

The records in this accession consist of selected offender case files from Pacific Region. Upon entering a correctional facility, the offender is given a unique identification number and a file is created; this file follows the offender from institution to institution. The files contain a variety of documentation on the various aspects of his/her incarceration, including the administration of the sentence (admission and discharge), interaction within the institution (conduct and behavior), medical and psychological treatment, education and training.
