Accession consists of sixteen ledgers and four books that were created and/or maintained by the Department of National Revenue and its predecessor agencies. The ledgers primarily detail customs and excise activities at ports of entry in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario, including but not not limited to those in Sprague, MB, Northgate, SK, and Pigeon River, ONT. Other ledgers detail the registry of vessels in Winnipeg, MB; memos sent to collectors throughout the region; and summaries of employment at the Regina Port. The four books were presumably held as reference volumes at the ports. They provide instructions pertaining to the registration of vessels and the inspection of steamboats and cargo.

This accession is currently held by the Winnipeg Regional Service Centre.

This accession was maintained by the department and its successor agencies until Canada Border Services Agency transferred the accession to LAC in 2010.
