Collection search - Reports of shipping casualty and/or an accident on board ship [textual record]

Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Marine Investigations Unit of Transport Canada. Each incident is documented by a 4-page form titled 'Report of a shipping casualty and/or an accident on board ship - Rapport de sinistre maritime et/ou d'accident à bord d'un navire.' In some cases additional records are found together with the form, including charts, correspondence, and background information (though the extent is limited to, at most, a few pages). Each incident is assigned a consecutive number. These records were transferred to the Transportation Safety Board upon its creation in 1990 and were classified in the TSB classification system under the file block 1350 - OCCURRENCE REPORTING - WRECK REPORTS (W/R). Note that these Transport Canada records continue into 1991, possibly because TSB was not yet fully capable of receiving and/or managing these incoming reports.
