Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Passport Office. This accession contains a selection passports granted in the late 1800s and 1900s, including such individuals as Alexander and Sophie Freud (brother and sister-in-law of Sigmund Freud), Edward Maxwell, John Arthur West, Margaret W. Melville, Abraham Rudolph, Sedley Johnstone Mackie, Letitia Agnes Newnham, Salomon Osmiansky, Arthur Colder Lyons, Edward J. Jarvis, Frederick Godwin, Hugh Paton, Edith Mary Davidson, Nand Singh Sihra, and William Kennedy. Also included are various documents relating to the organization and procedures of the passport office from 1949-1973.
