Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the T1/T2 Redevelopment Project team at Department of Transport headquarters, indicated by the routing code AKL. The Terminal 1/Terminal 2 Redevelopment Project at Lester B. Pearson International Airport in Toronto was undertaken in order to privatize the terminals. The Project was cancelled by the new Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Jean Chrétien, on December 3, 1993. The decision was followed by litigation.

The records align with file blocks 7150 Airports - General and 7151 Establishment and Operation. The finding aid assigns block numbers to the files, but the records are not classified within the file registry system of the Department of Transport, and appear to have been created ad hoc. At least 18 boxes contain files related to the litigation that followed the cancellation of the Redevelopment Project. Other records cover the divestiture of the airport in 1996, while the final seven boxes contain legacy documents from the 1970's held by the airport office.
