This sub-series holds the containers for 29 copper plates from the 1784 edition of the Atlantic Neptune atlas.

General note:

Of the 29 copper plates, 9 are from volume 1, 11 are from volume 2 and 9 are from volume 3.

Date of issue:

In the finding aid, there are two dates ascribed to each plate. The first date listed refers to the 1784 edition, while the second date listed in parenthesis is the date the map was surveyed.

It is uncertain when exactly the plate was created but it was used for printing the 1784 edition. The plates were created between 1777-1784.

Restrictions on access note:

All of the copper plates in this sub-series have physical restrictions and will not circulate due to their fragility and age. Please consult on site in Gatineau (Québec) in the presence of a cartographic archivist.
