In 1982, Eldorado bought Gulf Minerals Canada Limited (GMCL) from Gulf Canada Limited. One of GMCL's principal concerns was the development of uranium mining sites around Rabbit Lake, in Saskatchewan. Eldorado also bought the assets of a German-owned, Canadian-incorporated company called Uranerz, which had entered into a joint venture with GMCL in 1970 to develop the Rabbit Lake sites.
The first box of the accession is features Financial Services' GMCL Policies and Procedures, including originals (e.g., binder revised to April 26, 1982), correspondence & approvals, as well as other miscellaneous correspondence and draft policies.

The last two boxes of the accession are from the Financial Planning & Control area (Head Office), and include joint venture agreements and related operating committee meeting minutes, pertaining to the Rabbit Lake Joint Venture, Canadian Mineral Venture, and GMCL-Phelps Dodge joint venture. The last box also includes management reports and profit outlook and narratives for the late 1970s, Capital AFE cost statistics for 1979-1980, and Uranium Production Report 1977-1980.

The second box of the accession is also from the Financial Planning & Control area, and is labelled "Jack Gimpel's desk files - miscel[l]aneous reports, studies, analyses, etc." Jack Gimpel was the manager of Financial Planning & Control. The files are organized alphabetically by subject, from Allocations to Yankee Atomic, with outside dates 1970-1982.
