The content page for this chapter notes: "He withdrew into Galilee. And now, forsaking / the city of Nazareth, he came and settled down in / Capharnaum which is by the sea shore, in the / country of Zebulon and Nephthalim, in fulfill- / ment of what was said by the prophet Isaias; The / land of Zebulon and Nephthalim, on the sea road, / beyond Jordan, the Galilee of the Gentiles! The peo- / ple that abode in darkness have seen great / (?); for men abiding in a land where death over- /shadowed them, light has dawned." (1997-499-4.25V) This drawing illustrates Matthew Chapter 4, Verses 12-16.

This page has been restored, so some of the writing on the edges are not legible. Also, this page has been cut in half from the entire 44cm page that comprises the rest of the sketchbook.
