Collection search - Criminal Case Files of the Director of Investigation and Research, Competition Bureau [multiple media]

Accession consists of criminal case files created and/or maintained by the Director of Investigation and Research. The Competition Bureau has the ability to refer criminal matters to the Attorney General of Canada, who then decides whether to prosecute before the courts. The Bureau also has the power to bring civil matters before the Competition Tribunal or other courts depending on the issue.

Files include advisory opinions, searches, prosecutions, oral examinations, written returns, prosecutions - summary of evidence and advice to the Minister related, but not limited to, the following: Weston Bakeries, Redpath Sugar, Polaroid Canada, Canadian Infant Formula Association, Labatt, Skydome Consortium, Cannon Inc., 3M Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Domtar, Alcan Aluminium, GM Canada, Texaco Canada, Bayer A.G., Stanchem Inc, CN Railway, Yellow Cab and Bell Canada.
