General note:

The accession includes copies of Orders in Council pertaining to Customs and Excise and National Revenue created by PCO for departmental use. They include, for example, extensions of employment, promotions, and the consideration of various customs-related petitions. Also notable, are numerous memorandums written to the Minister of National Revenue Colin William George Gibson in 1941.

Some of the material appears to have been at some point part of the departmental library of Customs and Excise. They include several booklets on the Customs Act and amendments dating as far back as the 1860s and several publications, including Treasury Decisions Under Customs and Other Laws, among others.

Custodial history:

The material was in the possession of the Privy Council Office when acquired by LAC.
