Ron was born Metis in North Battleford in 1944. His father and grandfather were railroaders. Ron learned class-consciousness early on his side of the tracks. He attended university, eventually getting a degree in math. After first year he skipped out to England. As a hospital worker he met members of the British Communist Party and learned about Marxism. Returning to the University of Saskatchewan he graduated, found employment as a social worker and moved to Buffalo Narrows. At one venue, he unionized Catholic Church workers at a mission. He left government to work doing land claims research with the Metis Society. His research cracked the pilfering of the Metis land scripts and earned him another crack at university. He finished with at PhD from Carleton and has done sessional teaching since. Ron waited until 1990 to join the Communist Party of Canada (CPC), having earlier been a member of the Waffle. <60m>Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
