Subject was born in France in 1938. Fuyet immigrated to America after recieving jail time for refusing military service against Algeria. He joined the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) while teaching in Minnesota. A club was formed involving Fuyet and others at the State University of Minnesota. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) acknowledged its increased presence in the area due to monitoring Party Club activities. After nine years in the United States, Fuyet returned to Quebec and joined the Party under Sam Walsh. He left it in 1979 over the Polish, and a Quebec issue. Fuyet attempted to build 'Movement Socialist', but had rejoined the Parti communiste du Quebec (PCQ) under Marianne Roy. He shares insights regarding issues and manifestations of Quebec Nationalism that the PCQ had to grapple with. Fuyet was one who supported keeping the PCQ name and traditions.
