Accession consists of photographs during his voyage from Winnipeg to Chesterfield Inlet via Churchill on board a train and the famous R.M.S. Nascopie ship, Norman Sanders took many photographs locating, showing and naming the people, landscapes and the built environment.

Norman Sanders worked for the Department of Transport with postings at small airports responsible for operating radio ranges, air traffic control and meteorological reporting. He volunteered for the marine branch in 1945 and lived one year at Chesterfield Inlet (Nunavut) with other Department of Transport employees.
