This sub-series documents the activities of the policy unit of the Prime Minister's Office while Paul Martin was Prime Minister from 2003 to 2006, in particular the activities of deputy chief of staff Peter Nicholson. The policy unit is primarily responsible for analyzing public policy and advising the Prime Minister on the government's legislative agenda.

The sub-series contains electronic documents that were found on employees' personal drives and on the shared drive of this unit of the Prime Minister's Office, as well as some employees' emails (23,769 emails in total) and electronic agendas.

Arrangement note:

The archivists maintained the original file arrangement during processing.
The emails boxes and the electronic agendas (Outlook calendars) were entirely kept. No selection or reorganization was done to the PST files.
