Interview of forester C.B. Gill, Chief of Forest Management for the Manitoba Forest Service. This was recorded at his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba by G.H.D. Bedell as part of a series of interviews with Canadian foresters for the Forest Management Institute's oral history of forestry in Canada. He speaks about such subjects as: his early education and career development; forestry in Manitoba; his impressions of foresters in Manitoba; early logging operations; early functions of the Canadian Forestry Service; establishing Riding Mountain National Park; the National Forestry Program; the Manitoba pulpwood survey; early aircraft in the forest survey; timber sales; firefighting and fire research; early forestry practices in Manitoba; personal recollections; and notes on forestry in Manitoba. <45mn>
