This accession contains case files concerning members of an inadmissable class of persons as described in various paragraphs of the Immigration Act. This includes people who entered Canada as non-immigrants and remained in Canada after ceasing to be non-immigrants (paragraph 18(1) (e) (vi), persons who were not genuine visitors to Canada (paragraph 19(1) (h); individuals who had not obtained immigrant visas (paragraph 19(2) (d), persons against whom deportation orders were issued (paragraph 19(1) (i), and the like.
Documentation includes such forms as statutory declarations, bonds for conditional release, minutes of enquiries, warrants for arrest, detention and deportation orders, confirmations of departure (IMM 56) and other related official correspondence.
These documents were accessioned after the proclamation of the Access to Information and Privacy Acts and must be reviewed in accordance with the provision of the legislation before they can be made available for research. Consult the Access Section if you wish to have this material reviewed.
