Created in 1970, the Administrative Policy Branch develops and monitors a comprehensive set of policies and guidelines for the broad scope of general administrative policy. The Branch is responsible for policy development, planning and evaluation, and policy implementation and review in Federal administration. The scope of its mandate during the years covered by this accession and reflected in the records includes ex gratia payments, risk management, information management (including access and privacy, communications, electronic data processing, the Federal Identity Program, security), material management, real property management, major crown projects, and policy related to service contracting and the incentive awards program. In preparation for the 1976 Olympics, the Branch was responsible for liaison between the Federal Government and the Olympic Organizing Committee.
