Interview of Louis-Paul Dugal by Don Phillipson. Subjects discussed include: Dugal's appointment to the Honorary Advisory Council in 1944, initiating NRC annual report in French; Monseigneur A. Vachon; Laval University students were aware of National Research Lab in the 1930s; in 1946, Dugal chaired the Honorary Advisory Committee review committee where he encouraged the Biology Division to expand beyond war-time food research; J.A. Gray; Biology Grants Committee in 1960s W.H. Cook, Dugal and another who reported to Council; J.S. Duncan (Massey-Harris); Laval University was the only French-speaking university with a graduate school in the 1940s and two faculty staff that sat on the Honorary Advisory Committee (Dugal and Gagnon); NRC survey of university research in 1947 and 1948, when Quebec university deans and rectors were enthusiastic to promote research; George Setterfield; Leo Marion helped develop formal special programme for Québec science in the 1950s; Dugal resigned from HAC in 1949 to chair the DRB Arctic Committee; and J.B.
