Photograph is a portrait of Annie Affleck, after James Ashfield, Royal Studio, ca. 1870. It is presumed to have been taken about the time of her marriage. It is encased in a sterling silver locket with top suspension loop, with sterling silver chain and clasp. The top cover is sculpted with flora, and fern pattern, with diagonal faux strap motif. The inner locket (left side) is empty. The inner locket (right side) contains a head and shoulders portrait of the sitter, to dexter, under glass. The bottom cover locket, has flora, fern pattern, with blank (uninscribed) plaque.

Physical description note:

Original housing was a purple velvet box, ca. 7.5 x 9.2 x 5.8 cm, with cream satin lining. This box can be found in Volume 1 with the original locket.

Note on the state of conservation:

Object is generally in good condition.
