Television documentary series on the military campaigns of World War II. This program deals with the Battle of Stalingrad waged between the Soviet army and the Wehrmacht. It also includes footage ofthe battles of Kharkov, Sevastopol and Rostov. In addition, there's a brief look at Stalingrad before the German attack, and at fighting that tookplace between the Don and Volga rivers. The following noteworthy shots and scenes are shown: German youth wishing Adolf Hitler a happy birthday; Italian, Hungarian and Rumanian units being mobilized for Stalingrad; Russian newsreel announcing arrival of Winston Churchill; Romanian prisoners of war trudging along; Russian air pilots taking an oath; a huge monument at Stalingrad dedicated to the fallen Soviet soldier; Russian commanders rejoicing at the taking of Stalingrad.
