Collection search - Army [Numerical] [graphic material]

This record includes a large collection of negatives, caption lists that provide detailed titles for some of these images, and 110 print albums, which contain printed reference images of almost the entire series of negatives. As the result of the full digitization of the print albums clients should search through these albums, which are loaded at the file level, the existing item-level descriptions, and any caption title lists, which can be found attached to the file-levels they relate to.

These records were transferred to the custody of the Public Archives from the Department of National Defence during the late 1960s. Unlike other Army, Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force, or Canadian Armed Forces imagery, these images were not assigned an alphabetic prefix. The 110 print albums (printed as contact sheets with caption information) were originally part of DND FA19, and are now archival collection material.

The catalogue records under this sub-series are currently part of a project to enhance the arrangement and description of the Army Numerical series. This project will modify item-level and file-level descriptions.
