This accession include three financial ledgers used by Indian and Northern Affairs in North Battleford, Saskatchewan between 1930 and 1959.

The first item is an Annuity and Paylists Ledger, spanning approximately 1935 to 1952. It contains records for payments to bands including, but not limited to, Red Pheasant, Moosomin, Sweetgrass, Thunderchild, Grizzly Bear Head, Saulteaux, Water Hen, Poundmaker, Stoney, Mosquito, Meadow Lake, and Little Pine.

The second item is a ledger of records of expenditures, accounts and paylists for Shellbrook Agency (111) and Duck Lake Agency (109) spanning approximately 1947 to 1959.

The third item is a cash book ledger of interest paylists and band fund accounts spanning approximately 1930 to 1948. It contains records for payments to bands including, but not limited to, Moose Woods, One Arrow, Sioux, Kinistino, James Smith, John Smitgh, Beardy, Big River, Sandy Lake, Muskeg Lake, Kinenakoyo, Mistawasis, and Pelican Lake.

These ledgers provide clues to the financial relations between the department and these bands during this period.

Custodial history:

These records were originally housed in Edmonton, but were later transferred to British Columbia. They were transferred again in 2016 and are now located in the National Capital Region and are available for consultation there.
