Accession consists of colour sketches that appear to be proposals for the painting of 2 murals for Ermineskin Kindergarten.

Each page includes two different designs. The two top pictures on each page display what appears to be a narrative demonstrating the changes to First Nations life over time. The first design begins with a traditional scene of tepees, hunting, and riders on horseback. It then moves onto early farming activities, the introduction of early machines, early interactions between First Nations people and non-Aboriginals, and ends with images of a church and school. The second design begins with the early modern era, with depictions of farm houses, tractors, and other agricultural buildings. It then moves onto an image of an oil derrick, a sailboat and airplane, graduates wearing cap and gown, and finally an image of people dressed in an unknown style and a head profile of a First Nations person. Both of these sketches are marked as "Approved."

The bottom two pictures on each page display traditional First Nations motifs. These sketches are marked as "Not approved."

The sketches are titled 'Ermineskin Kindergarten School - Tracing of Artist Janvier's Murals.'

The artist in question is Alex Janvier.
