A trade mark can be: 1) a mark that is used to distinguish a particular article or service from other similar articles or services; 2) a certification mark which distinguishes articles or services that are of a defined standard, or 3) a distinguishing guise wich indicates that the shape of the articles or the mode of packaging of the articles is used as the distinguishing feature between articles.
The records consist of registrations of trade marks and sometimes drawings, with the name of the registrant and the articles or services offered. The registers also indicate whether trade marks have been renewed, cancelled or expunged.
