Canada Immigration Centres (CICs) are the primary contact for most immigrants to Canada and all persons wishing to sponsor the immigration of relatives abroad, and are located in all Canadian cities and larger towns. CICs also undertake responsibilities such as the investigation of immigration irregularities and representing the department at formal inquiry hearings involving refused claims, deportations, and exclusions. CIC case files include such documentation as standard immigration forms (application for permanent residence, record of landing, employment and student applications), reports on violations of the Immigration Act, and photocopies of personal documents such as passports and birth certificates.
This accession consists of two boxes of selected case files from the Canada Immigration Centre (CIC) in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, including "F sample" case files, "fat" files (those measuring one inch or more in thickness), and controversial cases.
