General note:

The records consist of files relating to the establishment, expansion, amalgamation, and general operation of a rural route, stage, and side service routes in the Rideau Division. The files consist of general correspondence, tendering procedures, maps/diagrams, and copies of contracts. Also included on many files is a synoptic mail register card which provides a history of the route. While most of the files are for the 1960s through the the early 1980s, there are several files for the late 1940s and the 1950s.
