The Ripping Friends was a Canadian animated series created by John Kricfalusi, the original creator of Ren and Stimpy. After he was fired from Ren and Stimpy, Kricfalusi wanted to create a movie that starred the worlds "manliest men" which became the basis for the Ripping Friends. The Ripping Friends were four superhuman, macho brothers who fought all manner of whacky and strange criminals. The development of the series was marked by sporadic and unprepared production and, despite all attempts, could not quite recapture the humor, or the audience, that Ren and Stimpy once held. The series ran for thirteen episodes, from September 2001 to September 2002 before being cancelled.

Pooperman was a superhero who resided in the same universe as the Ripping Friend and made several appearences during the shows short run.
