Collection search - Central registry files of the Inland Waters Directorate [textual record]

This accession consists of a broad range of central registry files from the 7000 block of Environment Canada's file classification system which was allotted to the Inland Waters Directorate for its operational activities.

The files concern International and Interprovincial Waterways (e.g. St. Mary and Milk River - International Board of Control; the Niagara Treaty; the International Champlain Waterway Board; and the Federal-provincial St. John River Board); Conservation and Floods (dams, diversions, channel studies, water levels, hydrometric investigations); gauging equipment and stations; water pollution (oil, detergents, industrial); and the large series concerning the Saskatchewan-Nelson Basin Board.

Though some records were created by predecessors to the Inland Waters Directorate, they have been brought forward into the file classification system.
