Collection search - Central registry files of property in the Atlantic region [textual record]

This accession contains files documenting the acquisition of property in the Atlantic region for government use. They cover the subject from the administrative, legal and financial viewpoints as well as the justification of the acquisition, the background of the project and the resulting relations with other agencies and with the community.
There are four categories of files:
1. Boxes 1-9 contain files concerning property required for government buildings, 1965-1975.
2. Boxes 10-15 contain files concerning property required for harbour facilities and other marine works, 1963-1978.
3. Boxes 16-26 contain files concerning property acquired on behalf of Transport Canada, mostly for airport facilities, 1949-1980.
4. Box 27 contains files concerning property acquired to comprise the Portobello Creek National Wildlife Area in New Brunswick on behalf of the Canadian Wildlife Service, 1976-1978.

These records were originally held in Nova Scotia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
